After Manchester City's extravagant fancy-dress Christmas party blow-out on Monday, Arsenal decided to celebrate the festive season themselves, albeit in a considerably more low-key fashion.

First the squad enjoyed dinner at the Hilton on Mayfair's Park Lane, which overlooks Buckingham Palace.
Then they moved to the traditional glitterati hang-out, Whisky Mist nightclub, where they partied until 3am.Players and WAGs enjoyed the opportunity to let their hair down, and from the smiles on the attendees faces, it is clear the mood was a jovial one.
Theo Walcott appeared to be having a particularly good time, along with his long-term girlfriend Melanie Slade, while Jack Wilshere and Wojciech Szczesny seemed to be getting along very well indeed.
Mikel Arteta was in attendance with WAG Lorena Bernal in tow, similarly Czech midfielder Tomas Rosicky was there with Radka Kocurova at his side.
Arsenal face Manchester City on Sunday afternoon, in an encounter which is likely to feature a good deal less Christmas spirit than this gathering.
Arsene Wenger doubtless hopes his side's performance will be as sensible as their Christmas party, while if Roberto Mancini's side plays with the same flair they displayed at their bash, it will make for a real cracker.
